The Ovarian Cancer Surveillance Center combines the latest medical and scientific knowledge with the most advanced surveillance and diagnostic methods. Women and their family members concerned about ovarian cancer have the opportunity to undergo an evaluation by a team of cancer specialists that includes a risk assessment, gynecologic examination, screening tests, and receive counseling and education about ovarian cancer risk and potential implications for family members, a personalized surveillance plan, and prevention strategies.

Who is at risk for ovarian cancer? The exact causes of ovarian cancer are not known. Although having one or more risk factors may increase a woman's chance of getting ovarian cancer, it does not mean that she is certain to get it. Studies show that the following factors may increase the chance of developing this disease:

Family History of the Disease, Increasing Age, Personal History of Cancer, Use of Fertility Drugs, Never Having Children, Being of Ashkenazi Jewish Descent.

Women who believe they may be at increased risk of developing ovarian cancer may schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-804-7750.
